The Little Gym of Pittsburgh-South Hills – Classes & Camps follows a proprietary Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy called Get Moving, Brain Boost, and Citizen Kid, with a focus on physical activity as a conduit for nurturing the whole child and a non-competitive spirit. The mission statement describes a focus on movement with meaning, with kids laughing, leaping, and learning in every class and discovering confidence and joy that lasts a lifetime. The Little Gym brand first opened in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington, and this year marks 50 years since it first opened its doors. The program highlights that little steps lead to big confidence, emphasizes social and emotional learning, and describes an emphasis on building courage, resilience, and joy through gymnastics with purpose. Parent Survival Night is described as giving parents a break, and Mini Jacks teaches FUNdamental Sports Skills “The Little Gym Way” by mixing fan-favorite sports with movement-rich activities. The Little Gym also offers five flexible membership options and an app that lets families discover, book, and track classes, camps, and parties, keep the whole family’s schedule in one place, and celebrate milestones along the way. Testimonials from parents describe birthday parties where expectations were beyond met and introductory classes that were fun, engaging, and interactive, with staff described as professional, friendly, and welcoming.
