YMCA of Reading & Berks County Youth & Child Care Programs include homework help, active games, sports, hands-on STEAM activities, and art class. Children also have access to outdoor play, gym time, outdoor games, swimming, field trips, and healthy snacks. Early Learning Programs include free breakfast, lunch, and snack.

Since 1857, the YMCA of Reading & Berks County has served families across Reading, Fleetwood, Sinking Spring, and surrounding communities. The program uses a state-approved curriculum and assessments with play-based learning and a focus on social and emotional development. Childcare centers are fully licensed by the Department of Human Services and are STAR 4-rated with bilingual, licensed staff. Programs are available at Reading YMCA and Richmond Early Learning Centers, with on-site child care for infants through 6th grade and early drop-off and late pick-up for Pre-K Counts. Early Learning Programs offer Pennsylvania’s free Pre-K Counts program at the Reading YMCA for qualifying families. Financial assistance and subsidized funding are available for qualifying families, including an Open Door Scholarship based on individual needs and circumstances.

The YMCA of Reading & Berks County offers a School’s Out Program for teacher in-service days, school breaks, holiday closures, and full-day care. Summer Day Camp includes weekly themes, field trips, and pool days. Additional offerings include free Family Movie Night on First Fridays at Reading Movies 11 & IMAX for YMCA members and childcare families, Les Mills Summer Luau Week at Sinking Spring Y with brand-new Les Mills releases, and Art Class with Allison for kids ages 8–12. The YMCA of Reading & Berks County has been voted Best Summer Camp in Berks.
