Tender Care Learning Centers

Tender Care Learning Centers offers activities that include Dramatic Play, Arts & Crafts, Math & Science, Homework Help, Music, and Cooking. The program takes place at Tender Care Learning Centers and includes programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children.

Founded in 1982 in Pittsburgh, Tender Care Learning Centers has been helping families with early care and education needs for over 40 years. The program’s mission states that its purpose is to help children develop a lifelong love of learning. Tender Care Learning Centers reports that its schools embody the NAEYC accreditation standards and that it has achieved NAEYC accreditation, along with 100+ nationally recognized teacher awards and award-winning, nurturing teachers. The program has 19 convenient locations, operates 12 months per year, and serves 3 meals per day. It offers age-appropriate, nationally recognized programs focusing on social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and it has an open-door policy where parents are welcome to join during any part of the day. The program describes parent/teacher partnerships in which parents are considered an integral part of a child's development, with a variety of opportunities throughout the year to discuss each child's developmental progress. Tender Care Learning Centers includes a global citizenship focus, including learning about the world beyond immediate surroundings, understanding the interconnectedness of societies, and learning to celebrate diversity in a spirit of understanding and tolerance while developing a positive regard and awareness of other people. Tender Care Learning Centers is an Official Partner of the Pittsburgh Penguins. According to the program, “Our goal is to create learning environments that engage each child.”
