Centered Earth Youth Programs

Centered Earth Youth Programs offers hands-on art activities that include clay, jewelry, weaving, painting, glass, fibers, sculpture, wheel throwing, hand-built clay, and pottery painting. The program also includes Paint Your Own Pottery (PYOP) as a walk-in project, along with Art Clubs, summer camps, and classes led by professional local artists in a welcoming studio environment.

• Schedule: PYOP, drop offs, and pick ups are available Tuesday–Thursday from 11:30 am–5:30 pm, Friday from 11:30 am–6:30 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am–4:00 pm.

Centered Earth Youth Programs partners with local artists to offer classes in wheel throwing and hand-built clay, jewelry, glass, weaving, painting, fibers, sculpture, and related projects. The majority of the artists have formal training in their field and also work professionally to exhibit and sell their work. Centered Earth was founded in 2014 by clay artist and art educator Kathy Görg as a hub where local artists could develop their skills. In June 2021, longtime jewelry teacher Melissa Jenkins, together with her husband James, took on ownership of the studio. The program follows the Muncy school district’s cancellations in the event of adverse weather conditions. Class reservations and advance payments are nonrefundable, and credits toward another class may be available if families contact the studio in advance to cancel. The program’s stated mission is that everyone is born to create, with a goal of making complex projects more approachable and making art more accessible for the community.
