About

Theatre Horizon Summer Drama Camps include daily vocal rehearsals and musical storytelling, acting and character development workshops, movement and choreography training, and improvisation and collaboration where campers develop original characters, build unique worlds, and bring their stories to life on stage. Camps also feature ensemble building and leadership development, auditions and role placement in Week One for the Teen Musical Theatre Camp, rehearsal and performance on a professional Theatre Horizon set, and a lively showcase with costumes and props.

• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Teen Musical Theatre Camp is a three-week intensive running August 3–21, 2026 on weekdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, and Summer Drama Camps run in one-week sessions from June 22–August 28, generally 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
• Price: Teen Musical Theatre Camp tuition is $900 per student with additional public performance tickets at $15, and other camps range from $190–$250 per student, with some resident/non-resident rates, Pay-What-You-Can starting at $350 for the Autism Drama Summer Camp, and $250–$320 for NSTEP Summer Camp.

Teen Musical Theatre Camp focuses on bringing Disney’s Dare to Dream Jr. to life on the Theatre Horizon stage, including songs from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II that appear for the first time in a Disney stage musical. Teen Musical Theatre Camp students experience the full arc of a production process from auditions to tech rehearsals to final performances, culminating in two live performances on August 20 and 21 at 7:00 PM, with each student receiving two complimentary tickets and additional tickets available for $15, and no early drop-off or late pickup is available. Theatre Horizon’s Autism Drama Summer Camp is offered on a Pay-What-You-Can basis starting at $350, and scholarships are available for Theatre Horizon’s NSTEP Summer Camp, with financial aid options, including full and partial aid, available for Teen Musical Theatre Camp.

Theatre Horizon states in its mission that it is dedicated to education and that, through arts education, children are given tools to grow as individuals, creatively, and as members of a team, and that it brings professional theatre to the Norristown community and provides theatre education to over 1,000 children annually. Theatre Horizon is a member of Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for the American theatre, and its stage is described as award-winning. Theatre Horizon’s Autism Drama Program was featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The leadership team for Theatre Horizon includes Executive Director Mydera Taliah Robinson, Interim Artistic Director Matthew Decker, Director of External Relations Gilberto Vega, Education Manager Sydney Marie Hughes, Education Coordinator Molly Levine, Finance & HR Manager Josh Totora, Operations Manager Sean C. Konopka-White, Strategy Manager and Director of Philadelphia Teaching Artist Institute Dawn Loveland Navarro, Public Relations professionals Wendi Sheridan and Tracy Buchholz, Graphic Designer Daniel Kontz, Artistic Associate Eliza Waterman, and Webmaster & IT Director Steven P. Nemphos. The Board of Directors includes President Chad Eric Smith, Vice President Gail Fishman, Treasurer Kate Casey, Secretary Christina Fryman, and Directors Beverly Barksdale, Olivia Brady, Matthew Decker, Hannah Fenlon, Katie Hitchens, Hakim Jones, Zandra Maffett, Amanda Morton, Diane Reilly, and Mydera Taliah Robinson.

Interim Artistic Director and co-founder Matthew Decker is a three-time Barrymore Award winner for directing and a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Strategy Manager and Director of the Philadelphia Teaching Artist Institute Dawn Loveland Navarro previously served as Director of Education at Playhouse on Park, created, oversaw, and taught programs serving approximately 4,000 students per year, stage managed over 30 regional theatre productions, worked as a directing assistant at Berkshire Theatre Festival, completed theatre education professional development at Florida Studio Theatre, and is a graduate of Middlebury College. Finance & HR Manager Josh Totora is an actor, musician, and composer based in the Philadelphia/NYC area, has performed with multiple regional theaters, is a Barrymore Award nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor (Musical), a Barrymore Award winner for Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical, continues training at The Barrow Group in NYC, and was a founding member of indy long-form improv Team NO DUDS while training with Magnet Theater.
