Friends' Central Summer Programs offers activities that include basketball, reading, math, athletics, academics, and hands-on experiences. The program includes traditional day camps, academic enrichment camps, specialty camps, and clinics such as a Basketball, Reading, and Math Clinic, as well as Summer STEAM.
• Ages: 3–17 years old
• Schedule: The Summer Programs office is open Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm.
Friends' Central Summer Programs includes Tenderfoot Camp, which offers a traditional day camp experience for campers ages 3–6, and Trailblazer Camp, which offers a traditional day camp experience for campers entering grades 2–7. The Basketball, Reading, and Math Clinic focuses on athletics and academics for students entering grades 2–9, and Summer STEAM offers engaging, hands-on experiences for students entering grades 6–12. Winter and Spring Break Camps offer a traditional day camp experience for campers ages 3–9. Camp options are structured around the developmental needs and unique interests of campers.
FCS Summer Programs are managed by Friends’ Central teachers who are invested in the school community and committed to providing a positive, enriching, and safe camp experience for every child. Friends’ Central School is recognized for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the positive interactions between children and faculty. Fair play, acceptance, and respect for the individual are emphasized in the Summer Programs, and all summer employees are oriented in and guided by the Quaker practices for which the school is known.
One family shared that the counselors are “wonderful with the children” and that the variety of activities is “fantastic,” noting that their children “very much look forward to summer just for camp.” Another family commented that the “multitude of activity options keep the children interested and engaged” and that their children “look forward to attending camp each summer.”
