Lauri Ann West Community Center Youth Programs include activities such as Mah Jongg Open-Play, Summer Camp, Secret Agent Spy Camp, Laser Maze Challenge, and a Foam Party. Mah Jongg Open-Play meets on Tuesdays at 2:00pm in the Alexander Family Community Room throughout July, and participants are asked to bring a Mahjong set if they have one and may borrow an extra card if needed.

As it celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the Lauri Ann West Community Center describes itself as stronger than ever. The center’s mission statement says that it builds connections, expands horizons and impacts lives by providing a safe place for all to learn, play and grow. The leadership team includes Executive Director Heidi Ward, MBA, and the programs include a state-certified after-school program and a virtual tour of the building. Community involvement has included visits from Lucy, Michelle, Nicholas, and their dogs from Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group, support from the Township of O`Hara and the North Hills Special Response Team, and funding from the Pittsburgh North Optimist Foundation for the Summer Camp’s first Foam Party on June 19th.
