Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media is a contemporary visual and media arts non-profit organization that has been providing arts education in Pittsburgh for 80 years and counting. Its approach to arts education provides a balance between process and product, and student progress is measured in terms of personal artistic growth, the acquisition of new skills, and the ability to think critically. The organization offers classes year-round in a variety of mediums and provides weekend and summer programs for youth as well as community-based art classes for adults.

These camps and classes are taught by talented, experienced teachers, supported by qualified, engaged assistants, and managed by an efficient, collaborative administrative team. Programs for children, teens, teachers, artists, schools, colleges, and communities are brought to families through partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts' Arts in Education Partnership. Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media’s mission is to cultivate a thriving arts community by bringing people together through education, exhibitions, and experiences, and it envisions an inclusive, creative, and connected region where artistic expression and cultural exchange are recognized as vital.

The organization states values of Impact, Growth, Inclusion, and Opportunity, and is committed to promoting equity, respecting and honoring differences, and embracing a broad spectrum of philosophies and life experiences. It works to assure a welcoming environment for all board members, artists, members, staff, faculty, students, visitors, and vendors, regardless of age, class, gender, ethnicity, mental/physical ability, race, religion, or sexual orientation. In 2022, Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media polled students and teachers and met with community stakeholders to envision a plan to boost the state of its finances, inclusivity, communications, and overall organization.

Artist Access Membership provides artists with resources, equipment, and facilities for practicing their art and pursuing a multitude of projects, while Associate Membership provides individuals and families discounts on classes, at local arts supply stores, and reciprocal membership benefits at Pittsburgh Glass Center. Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media is no longer holding or scheduling weddings or receptions.
