Camp Minsi BALOO Training focuses on how to plan and run a Cub Scout campout, including camping gear, tents, and fire building. Participants take part in outdoor cooking and food safety, learn health and safety rules for Cub camping, and practice campfire programs and outdoor games. The program also covers nature hikes and basic outdoor skills.
• Schedule: Friday, May 8, 2026, until Saturday, May 9, 2026, with a mandatory online meeting on April 30, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM

The leadership team is led by Course Director Sarah Payne. The mission statement for Camp Minsi BALOO Training is that Cub Scout camping is all about family, fun, and safety, and BALOO ensures that leaders know how to create memorable experiences for young Scouts while following Scouting America’s standards for outdoor safety and youth development. BALOO is an entry-level training course for Cub Scout leaders serving youth in grades K–5 who want to take their pack camping, and it is required for at least one adult on every Cub Scout overnight campout. Proceeds benefit the more than 4,200 youth served by the Minsi Trails Council. Check-in runs from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the parking lot, and participants are asked to arrive on time to complete check-in before 7:00 PM.
