Last Chance Ranch Educational Programs

Last Chance Ranch Educational Programs include summer camp, horseback riding lessons, dog training, birthday parties, solo or group tours, and community service activities. The program also offers horseback riding and tours as part of its educational experiences, and makes room rentals available for events and programs.

Last Chance Ranch Educational Programs take place at a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that rescues and rehabilitates equines, farm animals, and companion pets, and provides a safe refuge for abused, unwanted, or neglected animals. The organization offers hands-on education and community programs, including educational programs such as tours, horseback riding, birthday parties, and community service, as well as educational seminars, clinics, and community outreach. Its mission is to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need, provide a safe haven for abused, neglected, and unwanted animals, and educate the public on humane and responsible treatment of animals through follow-up programs, educational seminars, and community outreach.

The leadership team includes Jackie Burke (Executive Director), Stephanie Lorenz (President, Equine Health Director), Arlene Brennan (Chief Financial Officer), Andi S. (Programs Administrator), Marie K. (Riding Instructor/Equine Trainer), Kim C. (Kennel Health Manager), Denise A. (Program & Events Coordinator), Autumn P. (Barn Manager), and Cristina A. (Office Manager). Staff credentials include Jackie Burke being Fear Free Shelter and ASAR Large Animal Rescue Operations Certified, Stephanie Lorenz being ASAR Large Animal Rescue Operations Certified, and both Kim C. and Denise A. being Fear Free Shelter Graduates. The organization was founded in 1999, assisted with Hurricane Katrina recovery in 2005 and expanded its mission to rescue companion and farm animals, and in 2007 expanded its facility by 25 acres, later completing a kennel in 2010.
