Children & Youth Programs is part of Rankin Christian Center, a nonprofit, faith-based center in the Mon Valley, east of Pittsburgh. Since its founding in 1904, Rankin Christian Center has taught individuals and families new ways to grow spiritually and emotionally through a variety of program services. Its stated purpose is to minister to the physical, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of children, youth, families, and older adults. Rankin Christian Center is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and serves underserved communities in the Mon Valley of Allegheny County. It responds to the challenges of its service area by seeking strategic partnerships with other groups and providers, including operating the Rankin community pantry in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and local grocers. The organization describes a comprehensive network of service delivery with an integrated, strengths-based approach, including programs for at-risk individuals from birth to senior citizens, food pantry and outreach programs, senior programs with meals, classes, activities, and support, and Mon Valley Supports Coordination for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism.
