Sewickley Academy Summer Programs
Sewickley Valley YMCA, 315 Academy Avenue, Sewickley, PA 15143
About
Sewickley Academy Summer Programs offers creative and challenging academic, art, and athletic programs led by Sewickley Academy faculty and partners. Registration for 2026 Summer Programs is open, and registration for all programs is ongoing. Participants may register up to 7 days before the start date of a camp unless the program is canceled or sold out, and sold-out or canceled courses do not appear on the registration site.
• Ages: 3–17 years old
Families from all over the Pittsburgh region are invited to participate in Sewickley Academy Summer Programs. The grade range listed for each course is based on the grade a student will enter in the fall of the upcoming school year, and the “Pre-School” option is intended for Junior PreK and 3-year-old campers. All children enrolled under the Pre-School option must be 3 years old by the start of their camp session and fully toilet trained in order to participate. Students are expected to follow Sewickley Academy conduct standards and to display respect, kindness, care, and responsibility, and participants who do not follow these expectations may be suspended from the program without refund.
Families are asked to pack a nut-free lunch and/or snacks for children, as lunch and snacks are not provided by the Academy. Campers attending a full day of camp are required to bring a water bottle and a lunch from home for each day of camp. Missed classes and missed work are the responsibility of the student, and course fees are not prorated for absences or for participants who attend only part of a program week.
Cancellations can only be made in writing by email to the Director of Summer Programs. A $25 cancellation fee is charged for each canceled course with no exceptions. For courses lasting three or more weeks, the Academy refunds 67% of the course fee if written cancellation is received within the first 15 days of the course. Participants who cancel 30 days or more before the camp date receive a refund of registration fees minus a $25 cancellation fee, and those who cancel 15 days before the camp date receive a 50% refund of the total registration. No refunds are given for cancellations made less than 15 days before the event date, but registration fees may be transferred to another program at no additional charge. Sewickley Academy may cancel courses that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements and will give notice of a course cancellation at least 10 business days before the start date.
Sewickley Academy is a nationally recognized private Pittsburgh Jr. Pre-K–12 school. Its mission is “Elevating knowledge, character, and community through an intentionally extraordinary and innovative education.” The school traces its history to 1838, when John Champ and William Nevin opened a school for boys in Sewickley Bottoms, Pennsylvania. The summer programs are led by Delaney Kuchnicki, Director of Summer & After School Programs, with [email protected] listed as a contact for Summer Programs and a Summer Programs phone number of 412-741-2230 ext. 4411.
