About
Pennsylvania 4-H includes events where participants demonstrate their ability to evaluate animals of various species in judging contests. Judging competitions include dairy cattle, horses, poultry, and livestock such as swine, sheep, and beef cattle. The program also includes the 4-H Animal Bowl and Skillathon Day, with competitions such as avian bowl, dairy bowl, horse bowl, hippology, livestock skillathon, and rabbit and cavy bowl and skillathon.
• Schedule: Youth from across Pennsylvania took part in the annual 4-H Animal Judging Contests Day, and Pennsylvania 4-H youth from across the state competed in the 4-H Animal Bowl and Skillathon Day.
Pennsylvania 4-H describes itself as a community of encouraging adults and welcoming kids who love to roll up their sleeves and learn by doing. Participants engage through clubs, in school-based and afterschool programs, and as individual members. Pennsylvania 4-H reports reaching 150,485 youth, working with 3,754 volunteers, and being present in 67 counties. Ronak Suchindra, a Pennsylvania 4-H participant, is a 2025 National 4-H Council Youth in Action Award winner and said, "It's been so rewarding to see more young people get interested in STEM...It all started because of the opportunities 4-H gave me, both to learn about STEM and to grow as a leader."
