Champions at Francis McClure Elementary School offers before- and after-school time that includes art, dramatic play, math, science, problem-solving, language activities, and motor skills practice. The program also includes homework help and outdoor play as part of the daily routine.

• Schedule: Before- and after-school options for grades K–5 during the 2025/2026 school year, with hours from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on dates based on the school district’s schedule
• Price: 2025/2026 School Year - Before-School: 1-2 days: $35 per week; 3-5 days: $45 per week. After-School: 1-2 days: $40 per week; 3-5 days: $55 per week. 2026/2027 School Year - Before-School: 1-2 days: $40 per week; 3-5 days: $50 per week. After-School: 1-2 days: $45 per week; 3-5 days: $55 per week. Additional Fees: Registration Fee: $50 per child or $75 per family; Drop-In: $30 per day; Early Release: $10 per day. Discounts: Multi-Child, Military or School District Employee: 10%.
The stated mission of Champions is to offer activities that combine fun and learning, together with the safety and convenience of a high-quality program located inside the school. Teachers and staff undergo extensive training on health and safety practices, including pandemic-response protocols, and they are trained in first aid and CPR. Staff members are trained in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, and criminal background checks are conducted for staff.
The program includes a variety of group and individual activities and focuses on continuing learning and developing essential life skills whether school is in session or not. A wellness screening area is located near the Family Communication Area, and there is an emphasis on emotional wellness with daily lessons in community building and character development. Only authorized staff and families may enter sites, and all sites include smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Cleaning is done with safe, non-toxic cleaning products, and children are asked to wash hands frequently. Most sites offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and menus at sites that provide meal service satisfy applicable federal and state nutrition guidelines.
All children must be signed in and out on a paper-based roster and/or computer system, and only pre-approved people with photo identification may pick up a child, with written authorization required before a child is released to anyone. The program follows strict pick-up and drop-off procedures, including sign-in/sign-out and photo identification. Families may be asked to follow food restrictions to accommodate those with food allergies. Outdoor play is supervised and takes place only in safe, secure outdoor play spaces. The program follows strict policies for administering medication, including requiring a doctor’s note for any medication for children under age 2. Each site has an emergency evacuation plan that is tested frequently, and a National Support Center crisis team supports each center during and after emergencies.
