About
Black Belt Attitude School Martial Arts Programs offers Children's Programs, Adult Programs, and a tournament option. The program includes specific classes called Tiny Tigers, Karate for Kids, and Teens & Adults. The training places emphasis on personal development and includes life skills such as confidence, discipline, and focus.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Friday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday daytime
Senior Master Daniel Madriaga and Master Lorena Ausa are the owners of Black Belt Attitude School. The mission of the program states that it helps parents raise confident leaders and adults reach their true potential, with the view that anyone can begin martial arts at any age and any fitness level. The Tiny Tigers program offers children a foundation in character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline, while Karate for Kids classes emphasize positive mental attitude, high goal setting, and confidence, and ATA teen and adult programs focus on high-intensity fitness and real self-defense that applies in today's world. Families can try a martial arts class for free, and there is also a web-exclusive special trial offer. The school is part of four locations in Simpsonville and Greenville, including Five Forks, Pelham, Fairview, and Butler Rd.
Parents and students describe the instructors as amazing, excellent with young kids, and very interested in each student, and several note that the instructors push students to do their best. One student reports training there for three years and earning a black belt. Multiple parents mention changes they have seen in their children, including improved focus, respect, listening, following instructions, and behavior, as well as experiences with children who have special needs being accommodated and treated individually. Several testimonials mention children working toward or earning black belts, participation in sparring at the state level, and enjoying being involved with the ATA and BBAS community.
