Cherokee Creek Boys School includes environmental studies, service projects in the national forest, and weekend “Trek” adventures. Students take part in hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, camping, and sports such as basketball, soccer, gaga ball, disc golf on an 18-hole course, and tether ball. The program also offers equine therapy.

Cherokee Creek Boys School is a premier year-round therapeutic boarding school for boys in grades 5–10, with rolling admissions and an average enrollment of 40 students. The program is a single-gender therapeutic boarding school for boys that focuses on the special needs of adolescent boys and serves students from over 40 states and 13 countries. It is a year-round residential therapeutic boarding school that provides 40 students with personal, customized, individual care in a camp-like atmosphere where boys thrive and where boys unplug from technology and plug into nature.
The mission of Cherokee Creek Boys School is to help boys rediscover confidence, purpose and joy by creating “a place where boys can be boys.” Its character development curriculum is grounded in Truth, Wisdom, Love and Courage, and the program is organized around The PATH: Personal Enrichment, Academics, Therapy, Health & Recreation. The school uses a family-centered approach that includes family support, family seminars, family adventures, and experiences for the entire family.
The CCBS Team includes educators and academic specialists, licensed therapists, outdoor leadership specialists, residential therapeutic boarding school professionals, and nursing care. Admissions inquiries are directed to Christy Swafford. Cherokee Creek Boys School has over 20 years of transforming young lives.
Cherokee Creek Boys School is licensed by the State of South Carolina as a Child Caring Institution, nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, and accredited by Cognia for academics. It is the first therapeutic boarding school named a Gurian Model School by Michael Gurian and is a member of NATSAP and COPAA. One parent of a CCBS graduate stated, “CCBS changed our son’s life. He found confidence, made lifelong friends, and rediscovered joy.” Another parent of a CCBS graduate shared, “CCBS has been a lifeline for our son and our family.
