About

Providence Academy Summer Camps offers weekly sessions that include Basketball Session I and II, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Knights Football Camp, Cheer Camp, Swim Camp, Reading Roundup, Music Camp, Worship Band Camp, and Art Camp. Some weeks combine Music Camp and Art Camp or Worship Band and Art for full-day options. Several sports camps divide players into age-appropriate groups for skill training and scrimmages, and multiple sports camps include rest time and water breaks throughout each camp day.

• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Weekly camp offerings in May, June, July, and August, with half-day and full-day options; some camps run Monday–Friday and some run four or five days per week

Music Camp is a five-day camp that ends with a performance during the last 30 minutes on Friday. Worship Band Camp is a five-day camp that includes instruments, vocals, and audio/visual training and invites students to bring their own instruments. Art Camp is offered in the same June 8–12 week as Music Camp and Worship Band Camp, and full-day options that week run from 9:00AM–3:00PM with facilitated transitions between camps and time for lunch or snack breaks.

Baseball camp includes guidance on arm care and on the mental game of baseball, and its workers include head coach Jeff Reed, assistant coaches, and current Providence players. Knights Football Camp requires no equipment other than cleats and ends each day with skills competitions and flag football games. Wrestling camp includes a final match on Friday. Reading Roundup is a reading camp with art built in and uses stations with clay, art, reading manipulatives, and phonics word work, and students take something home each day from class.

Cheer Camp is led by Providence Academy high school and middle school coaches and cheer teams and focuses on fundamentals of cheerleading, new Providence Academy cheers, and a cheer dance, as well as discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and self-esteem. Swim Camp uses a pool, divides swimmers into groups based on ability levels, and holds a mini “swim meet” on Friday; campers are required to be able to swim one length of the pool on their stomach and one length on their back before the week begins. Swim Camp runs Monday–Friday for approximately 2.5 hours each day.

Summer at Providence is bringing weekly camp offerings in athletics, fine arts, and discovery, and all summer camps are open to the local community. All grade levels are based on rising grades for 2026–2027. Providence Academy states that it partners with parents to equip students to develop spiritual maturity and achieve academic excellence through a biblically-based, Christ-centered, classical education, so they will think and live in a manner which brings glory to God. Providence Academy provides a biblically-based curriculum and teaches all subjects as parts of an integrated whole with the Scriptures at the center, and it strives to follow a classical and Christian education as described in Dorothy Sayers’s essay “The Lost Tools of Learning” and Douglas Wilson’s book “Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning.” Providence Academy admits students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin to the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school and does not discriminate on these bases in administration of its educational policies, athletic, needs-based assistance, or other school-administered programs except where necessitated by specific religious tenets held by the institution and its controlling body.

The leadership team for these camps includes Mike Cash for Basketball Session I, Soccer, Knights Football Camp, and Basketball Session II; Jeff Reed for Baseball; Betsy Pettit for Music Camp and Worship Band Camp; Jennifer Burgess for Art Camp; Erica Roller for Softball; Justin Davis for Wrestling; Lauren Lyons for Reading Roundup; Ruth Stevenson for Cheer Camp; and Megan Williams for Swim Camp.
