Nashville Children’s Theatre Drama School is part of Nashville Children’s Theatre, which is a professional theatre company, education destination, family-friendly attraction, performing arts institution, and historic Nashville landmark. Nashville Children’s Theatre has been bringing professional theatre to young audiences for nearly a century and is described as 90+ years young and the oldest children’s theatre in the country. It is the country’s oldest youth-centered professional theatre and is nationally recognized as a premier culture, entertainment, and education destination. It is the second-highest attended cultural institution in Nashville, according to the Nashville Business Journal, and was named one of the “Top Five Theatres for Young Audiences in the US” by TIME Magazine.

Nashville Children’s Theatre states that it creates artistic experiences for everyone and nurtures the next generation of global citizens by providing transformational theatrical experiences which reflect an evolving community, instill profound empathy, and foster personal discovery. The organization partners with groups across Middle Tennessee to bring theatre to kids in their schools and communities, and one third of youth participants receive scholarships or financial aid.

Audience feedback includes comments from teachers, parents, and caregivers who have attended shows such as “Peter Pan: Wendy's Adventure to Neverland” and “Wheels on the Bus.” These testimonials describe the plays as a magical experience for students, note children’s focus during performances, and describe the program as fun and inclusive for kids of all ages and abilities. Parents of very young children have also described enjoying having a space where an 11‑month‑old could experience and enjoy theatre in their own way.
