Fort Cavazos Child and Youth Services (CYS) offers full day, part day, and hourly child care, as well as before school and after school care. The program also offers camps, part day preschool, before and after kindergarten care, Pre-Kindergarten/Strong Beginnings, School Age Center Summer Camp, and School Age Center hourly care. Children and youth can take part in instructional classes, workforce preparation opportunities, sports and fitness activities, computer lab access, homework help, teen babysitter training, and Babysitting Referral Services, along with Kids On Site (KoS) and Volunteer Child Care in Unit Settings (VCCUS) for on-site care during unit or organizational events.

• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. with walk-in registration available until 1 p.m., and Friday registration by appointment only; full day child care is 5 to 12 hours per day, and part day preschool and Strong Beginnings are 3-hour-per-day programs with different weekly options.
Family and MWR, which includes Fort Cavazos CYS, is a network of support and leisure services designed to serve the needs, interests and responsibilities of each individual in the Army community, as well as enhance the quality of their lives. CYS child care and programs are DoD-certified and nationally accredited, and programs are nationally accredited. Programs use standard curricula through formal partnerships with nationally recognized organizations such as 4-H and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Babysitters on the CYS referral list are 13 years or older, have certification in First Aid and CPR, and are trained in developmentally appropriate play, recognition of child abuse/neglect, emergency procedures, and interviewing. Child care is available on- and off-post, fees for various programs are competitively priced and affordable regardless of sponsor's income, and CYS programs are deemed a “model for the nation” by Presidential acclaim. CYS offers Babysitting Referral Services for registered families, Kids On Site (KoS) provides child care on site for unit or organizational events at the event location, and VCCUS is a volunteer-based childcare program that allows for on-site care during meetings and events organized by military units, Army Community Service (ACS) groups or Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, with Parent & Outreach Services providing training to volunteers from the military unit or organization.
