The Westwood School blends the Montessori Method with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. Students at The Westwood School have the opportunity to learn both Spanish and Mandarin as part of bilingual studies from Toddler through 12th grade. The school serves Toddler–12th grade students and their families within a student-centered curriculum with academic rigor and international mindedness.

Since 1986, The Westwood School has provided a Montessori environment, and since 2004 it has been an authorized IB World School. For more than 30 years, The Westwood School has worked with students to grow into caring young adults who are inquisitive, informed and inspired to succeed in an ever-changing world. The school reports that 100% of students in grades 11 and 12 are in the IB program and that students at Westwood graduate on time and are fully prepared to successfully attend the college or university of their choice. The Westwood student body represents over 40 nationalities, and the school describes itself as a close-knit and caring community with a student/teacher ratio of 1:10. The school states that it seeks to balance qualified boys and girls at each level, accepts those qualified students who in the opinion of the school will have successful experiences in the program and will contribute in the classroom communities, and reserves the right to place students in the age level which seems best for them.
