About
Neuron Garage Summer Camp centers on weekly building challenges where campers repurpose recycling to solve engineering problems. Each week focuses on a specific theme, such as Cardboard Arcade, Jam Session: Building Musical Instruments, Medieval Times: Castles & Catapults, Cafè Creations, Invention Convention, Rides & Roller Coasters, Time Travelers: Adventures Across Eras, Dream Homes, and Mythical Makers: Creatures & Kingdoms. Camp days include guided games, group discussions, individual coaching, and a mix of indoor and outdoor play.
• Ages: 6–12 years old
• Schedule: Sample day from 8:30 AM arrival to 3:00 PM pick-up, with extended hours pickup available until 5:30 PM; campers can join for one week, multiple weeks, or the whole summer, with one main building challenge each week
The program uses a growth mindset framework called Think – Build – Learn, along with simple frameworks and strategies that support campers in returning to their projects after they get stuck or overwhelmed. Days are structured to include both individual and group activity, along with time for relaxation, reflection, and play, and extra time on Monday mornings is set aside to establish a sense of community. The stated mission is to cultivate a Growth Mindset in the next generation based on the belief that every child holds extraordinary potential. Neuron Garage is not licensed by the State of Texas.
Neuron Garage is teaming up with passionate educators to launch independently owned locations operated by educator-entrepreneurs across the nation. Testimonials from parents describe campers returning home excited to show what they created, enjoying multiple weeks of camp, and responding positively to the balance of play time and think time. Parents also report that their children were challenged and nurtured through the building challenges, and several note that they plan to return for additional weeks or future summers.
