Thinkery offers interactive exhibits and hands-on activations in a 40,000-square-foot learning space called the Meredith Learning Lab. The program creates playful STEAM learning experiences that focus on building confidence, sparking curiosity, and supporting a deeper understanding of the world. Membership at Thinkery includes free General Admission at the Mueller location and additional benefits.
• Schedule: General admission hours are Monday 10 AM–5 PM, Tuesday 11 AM–7 PM, Wednesday 10 AM–5 PM, Thursday 10 AM–5 PM, Friday 10 AM–7 PM, and Saturday–Sunday 10 AM–5 PM. Special hours include Baby Bloomers on Friday and Saturday from 8–10 AM, Family Night on July 28 from 3–7 PM, and Member Morning on July 5 from 8–10 AM.
In 1983, a group of Austin parents and educators created a space that became the Austin Children’s Museum and later evolved into Thinkery over the next three decades. Thinkery is a nonprofit organization with a mission to lead the future of play-based STEAM learning experiences that inspire and equip all children to be confident, creative thinkers. Through its museums, programs, community partnerships, and the STEAM Learning Institute, Thinkery works to expand access to play-based learning experiences and has been a resource for children, families, educators, and caregivers across Central Texas for more than 40 years. Volunteers contribute time and talent in individual and group roles that support programs and visitor experiences.
