U.S. Softball Academy

U.S. Softball Academy offers instruction in hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and base running. Camp days include situational softball games, situational baseball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series as part of the program activities.

Each camp offers age-specific sessions with instruction tailored for each ability level, with sessions offered through age 18 in the winter/spring program and through 14 in the summer program. The full-day summer program focuses on skill instruction in the morning and situational softball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series in the afternoon. An average session includes about 30 players with six or seven experienced and professionally trained coaches, and these are not lecture clinics. All participants receive a t-shirt and camp certificate.

U.S. Softball Academy states that its mission is “Building Better Players” and that its camps are designed to develop skills in all facets of the game with an emphasis on teaching proper fundamentals and techniques. It is described as the nation’s largest network of softball camps, hosting in more than 100 cities across the country, with a national program structure and a “local touch” through coaches from the local area. The program notes that players learn from some of the area’s top high school and college coaches, with a low player-coach ratio and drill progressions focused on developing good habits while improving overall softball skills.
