About

Camp Tonkawa Outdoor Learning Center offers hands-on outdoor activities such as survival skills, horsemanship, nature awareness, and primitive wilderness survival. Participants learn specific skills including how to tie a snare, how to shoot an arrow, and how to cook over an open fire.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10 am–4 pm

Camp Tonkawa Outdoor Learning Center has a mission of connecting children and adults with nature through various outdoor immersion activities that teach essential life skills. The program includes hands-on teaching of ancient Native American skills of nature awareness, primitive wilderness survival, and horsemanship. It is founded on the concept of helping people rediscover their connection to the earth, with the perspective that nature is our teacher. Unique features include a break from the everyday noise of the world, a place to rediscover the beauty of earth, learning skills passed down from ancient days, and a focus on educational opportunities.
