YMCA of El Paso Youth Programs are part of a diverse organization of families joined by a shared commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. In El Paso, the YMCA has been part of the community for over 138 years providing programs that support wellness, character and leadership development, education, family services, and other community-centric activities.
• Schedule: General facility hours include Monday–Thursday 5:00 am–8:00 pm, Friday 5:00 am–7:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am–4:00 pm, with Sunday closed.
The mission of YMCA of El Paso Youth Programs is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The YMCA is described as the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other. Its stated community role includes nurturing children and teens, improving community health and well-being, and supporting those in need. The YMCA of El Paso is part of a national organization that engages more than 10,000 neighborhoods across the United States.
Parents and participants have shared experiences such as, “The Y feels like home, a second family,” from a YMCA gym monitor, and a member who said, “I signed up in the summer for the boys, but stayed for my friends.” Another member stated, “Swimming at the Y is the only thing that keeps me allive.”
