The program states that it hires, trains, and elevates staff who embody high character, emotional intelligence, leadership potential, and genuine care for children, and that it employs 300+ trained, caring staff. All counselors are certified in CPR, First Aid, and emergency response protocols, and every team member passes comprehensive background checks and receives ongoing training. Kidventure Camps is certified by the American Camp Association and describes itself as an award-winning camp since 1994. The program states that it believes summer should be transformative, not just fun, and that every activity, conversation, and challenge is designed with intention. It describes “The Kidventure Way” as a commitment to being a shining light for others, doing the right thing especially when it is hard, and leading with integrity, kindness, and courage. Overnight Camp is offered in the Texas Hill Country with selections for ages 8 to 16 and is described by the program as more than just an adventure and as a life experience.
Kidventure Camps describes itself as a partnership between parents, its role-model staff, and its host facilities, and notes that it provides several campsite locations in and around the Houston area and is proud to be part of the Houston community. In 2022, Kidventure established its non-profit “Ollie’s Kids,” through which it has operated Camp Rainbow Days, providing summer camp experiences to children experiencing homelessness. The program also offers a Spring Fest camp during Spring Break from March 9–13, 2026 in Houston and March 16–20, 2026 in Austin and Dallas.
In Houston, Kidventure Camps offers programs for ages 3–5 called Discoverers, for grades 1–5 called Explorers, and for grades 6–9 called LEADS. The program states that camp is designed to help kids discover their potential, explore the world around them, and develop abilities and character traits to be leaders in the future, and that Kidventure is about letting kids be kids and guiding them on the road to becoming great people. It also describes itself as “More Than Camp. A Launchpad for Life,” and notes that it offers flexible scheduling options.
Parent and staff testimonials describe Kidventure Camps as impactful and fun, with one parent noting that their child plays all day without TV and sleeps very well at night. Another parent reports that their 4-year-old is happy at drop-off and pick-up and that counselors remembered their child from the previous summer, mentioning that there is “never a dull moment” with activities such as splash days, rock walls, puppet shows, bounce houses, foam play, reptile meet and greets, face paint, arts, and crafts. Other testimonials highlight staff who are described as friendly, organized, and great with kids, and one staff member shares that working with Kidventure for five years has helped them grow as a leader and build confidence. Another testimonial describes Kidventure as a safe place for kids to express themselves, make friends, and have an active summer adventure away from phones and technology.
