Clayton Youth Enrichment began in 1975 at Lily B. Clayton Elementary and notes over 50 years of providing programs for children. The organization reports serving more than 70 schools and having on-site locations at more than 60 North Texas campuses in Tarrant County. Its mission statement describes safe, engaging programs with caring staff, hands-on activities, and convenient on-site locations that support working families and build vibrant communities.

Clayton hires compassionate professionals who receive comprehensive training. The leadership team includes Jason Ray (Chief Executive Officer), Dr. Kevin Hood (Director of Programs), Brittany Lee (Director of Finance), Drew Brock (Director of Human Resources), and Meryl Gunter (Director of Advancement). Camp Clayton Adventure Camp is officially ACA accredited, and the current school year marks Clayton Youth Enrichment’s 50th anniversary.

The program uses the Clayton Quest research-based life skills curriculum with hands-on activities and focuses on helping children communicate, problem-solve, and collaborate. It is described as a great alternative to daycare programs, with no waitlist advertised and a Refer-A-Friend reward program. Clayton partners with school districts and communities, works closely with local school districts to complement classroom learning and support essential life skills, and is described as a trusted pillar of support for families and schools across North Texas.

Parent testimonials describe staff as caring, communicative, and supportive, and mention homework help, engaging learning activities, and work on understanding emotions and how to express them appropriately. Parents from multiple elementary schools report that their children have fun, are actively learning, enjoy the activities, and often do not want to leave at pickup time. Several parents also describe the program as convenient, affordable, and a safe option for working families, and note that their children feel loved, recognized for good behavior, and supported by directors and teachers across various campuses.
