STEM Squad is a Museum School program where students take part in hands-on STEM activities with an engineering focus and a creative slant. STEM Squad classes feature specimens and artifacts from the Museum’s teaching collection, and activities are structured so that students construct their own knowledge of the world through direct, hands-on experiences. The engaging classroom environments and activities are facilitated by enthusiastic educators.
• Ages: 5–10 years old
• Schedule: STEM Squad classes are held on Mondays for Kindergarten – 4th Grade students.
For over 75 years, Museum School has been a leader in informal science education. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is part of the Smithsonian Affiliate program, the Association of Science and Technology Centers, the Association of Children’s Museums, and Museums for All. The Museum is dedicated to lifelong learning and, anchored by its collections, engages a diverse community through programs and exhibits interpreting science and the stories of Texas and the Southwest. STEM Squad is made in collaboration with the Tarrant County Education Foundation for the Waste to Wonder exhibit.
