Aspen Tennis Academy was started in 2012 by owner and head coach Ashlee Gardner. Ashlee has been teaching tennis for 20 years, was a top junior player in Utah placing in the top 3 every year while competing for the 5A state championships, and competed at the Division I level at Southern Utah University, where she earned Most Valuable Player and Team Captain honors during her four-year collegiate career. Aspen Tennis Academy states that technique and fundamentals are very important, along with players enjoying the game as they develop. Aspen Tennis Academy has been voted Best of Fulshear for three years in a row, and one of its players, Laila, won first place in the final leg of the “LITTLE MO” International in Palm Beach, completing the “LITTLE MO” Slam by winning all three Grand Slam titles in that series in one year and receiving a 6-foot-tall trophy. The academy offers a downloadable Aspen Tennis Academy app that allows families to view the schedule and book classes from a phone, and it also offers summer camps for kids of all ages and a beginner class designed just for men. Aspen Tennis Academy has participated in giving back to the Alief community in collaboration with @mindandmomentum. Parents and players have shared testimonials describing rapid improvement in tennis skills, attention given to young players, a positive and professional environment, progression through the Quick Start program, and coaching that stresses basic technique along with strategy.
