Butterfield Stage Youth Theater Classes and Summer Camp is part of Butterfield Stage Players, a not for profit, community theater in Cooke County. The program is connected to a theater that has seats repurposed from the Cooke County Courthouse and operates in the historic former Carnegie Library.
Butterfield Stage Players was formed in 1979 and has been entertaining audiences for 40+ years. Its mission statement is: “We strive to culturally enrich, educate and entertain through theater and performing arts.” The leadership team includes Rodger Boyce, Tom Carson, and Monica Hess. Butterfield Stage has adopted ratings for shows of G, PG, PG13+, and R. The organization established the Find the Light Scholarship program in the 2022–2023 season, through which two $1000 Find the Light scholarships can be awarded to current graduating seniors from a high school or home school who have demonstrated participation in theater during high school and who intend to pursue theater-based courses at the college level, and these scholarships are awarded at Butterfield’s annual Fish Fest in May.
