Sea Camp

Sea Camp is a week-long residential adventure where campers spend time exploring the wonders of the marine and estuarine environments. The program includes hands-on experiences using research vessels, oceanographic equipment, and laboratory facilities. Campers also decorate plain white T-shirts and have the option to participate in fishing.
• Ages: 10–18 years old
• Schedule: Week-long residential sessions, with camper arrival on Sunday afternoon and pickup after Friday night closing ceremonies or by late Saturday morning
• Price: There is a $10 non refundable registration fee, a $150 deposit due upon registration, and optional transportation to/from Houston Hobby Airport for $35 each way
Dorm staff include a resident manager, dorm mom, recreation director, camp assistant, and counselors, and counselors are K–12 educators. Sea Camp instructors are experienced undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates from Texas A&M University Galveston Campus. Texas A&M University at Galveston is included in Texas A&M University’s accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, doctorate and professional levels. The program has a zero tolerance policy for alcohol, drugs, weapons, or tobacco and vapor products. Campers are asked to bring specific items such as summer clothes, modest swimsuits, reusable water bottles, sneakers, bedding, towels, toiletries, insect repellent, sunscreen, two plain white T-shirts to decorate, and a lightweight fishing rod and reel if interested in optional fishing, along with any electronics they choose to keep in their dorm room.
