Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center

Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center hosts retreats and summer camps for children, students, adults, volunteers, and their families from across the nation. The program welcomes over 16,000 people each year through retreats and summer camps, including over 2,000 children who attend from across Texas in the summer. In the fall and spring, it operates as a retreat center serving churches and groups.

Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center has been a ministry of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church since 1939 and is an extension ministry of the Horizon Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Lakeview Camp in Glen Rose was purchased by the Central Texas Conference in November of 1939 and was renamed Glen Lake Camp in February of 1940. Employees are all Ministry Safe Certified. The organization is a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association. Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center states that it strives to create a Christian environment where authentic relationships are formed, and its mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
