Texas Elks Camp offers activities such as nature walks, arts and crafts, cookouts, outdoor activities, weekly dances, a petting zoo, tye-dye, fishing, archery, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. Sessions take place at Texas Elks Children's Services.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer 2026 sessions run in multiple five- to six-day sessions between June 14 and July 31, grouped by ages 7–10, 11–13, 14–17, and 18–21
• Price: There is no fee.
Texas Elks Camp provides children with special needs and children in foster care an opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. Any child with special needs or in foster care age 7 to 21 who is a resident of the state of Texas is eligible for admission, and no child is denied acceptance on the basis of income level, ethnic origin, race, creed, color or religion. Campers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and online camper registration opens January 1. Campers are encouraged to make their own decisions, become more independent and accept new challenges.
Counselors at Texas Elks Camp have a commitment to special needs children and have experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities. All counselors, nurses, and counselors in training attend a week of intense training. Most counselors are majoring in therapeutic recreation, special education, elementary education, social work, nursing or pre-med.
