About

House of Shine Programs take place in a 3,600-square-foot leadership lab and an interactive self-discovery museum. The programs use museum exhibits and K–12 curriculum and programs that focus on self-awareness, life skills, and leadership, and on uncovering each person’s SHINE, which stands for Strengths, Hobbies, Interests & Irritants, Needs, and Experiences. The programs are described as one of the most unique things to do in Grapevine and are open to anyone interested in discovering their best self from ages 5 to 95.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Year-round programs with daytime hours on weekdays and Saturdays, with expanded hours June–August

The idea behind House of Shine began in February 2008, and in 2020 the organization broke ground on its self-discovery museum. House of Shine is a leadership development nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen communities by growing confident, self-aware, and resilient leaders who have a deep understanding of themselves and why their contributions to the world matter. The founder of House of Shine is Dr. Claudia K. Beeny. House of Shine has partnered with schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, the Girl Scouts, and other nonprofit organizations to spread the Shine message. The organization has received the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency, which is its highest level of recognition.
