Kids Harbor Learning Center uses a strong curriculum in a safe, stimulating environment. Teachers create age-appropriate active learning experiences that include character building, physical activity, and social and emotional development. The program focuses on nurturing all skill areas through a structured curriculum and play.
Kids Harbor Learning Center states a mission of providing quality childcare that will develop children’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative growth. Handbooks are distributed upon enrollment and when updates occur, and parents are required to acknowledge policy changes. Parent notifications are sent through Remind 101, email, and online postings.
Each child must have a medical emergency form on file, including shot record, allergies, doctor, hospital, emergency phone numbers, and an alternate contact. Shot records must be up to date, signed by a physician, and include a physician’s statement that the child is physically able to participate, and parents have 7 days from enrollment to provide current records. Kids Harbor Learning Center may refuse enrollment or drop any child who is not current on immunizations, and parents must provide updated shot records after immunization appointments. A signed release from the doctor or clinic is required for a child to return after any type of illness.
Communicable disease screening includes a survey and temperature check for each person upon arrival. Entry is denied for a temperature of 100.4°F or above, signs or symptoms of respiratory infection, certain COVID-19 exposure, or international travel. Health checks are conducted daily for communicable diseases common to children, and contagious illness in the center is communicated by dated public notices on the front door and classroom door. Kids Harbor Learning Center follows CDC guidance and rules regarding communicable disease and may overrule a doctor’s note or require additional testing. Children with a fever of 100°F, vomiting, diarrhea, or other extreme conditions must be picked up, and return after a communicable disease requires a doctor’s note with return date, diagnosis, and copies of all positive and negative test results. The local health department does not require a TB test for admittance to day care at this time. The center has a no-nit policy for head lice, and children cannot return until all nits are removed.
Minor accidents are treated at the center, with a report sent home at the end of the day, and parents are notified immediately if blood is present. Leadership roles include Vanessa Lee as a School Year Babysitter, Henry Jones as a School Year Babysitter, and Jessica Lewis as a Before School Babysitter.
