Armed Services YMCA Killeen Youth Programs and Child Care offers child care and after-school programs, youth sports and camps, and licensed before and after school care. The program also includes licensed day camps, youth programs and Child Watch, and free Child Watch at the gym. Children can take part in skill-building and summer camps, enrichment through arts and humanities programs, and resiliency programs for military children, along with after-school and resiliency programs for school-age children.

The Armed Services YMCA Killeen Youth Programs and Child Care is part of the Armed Services YMCA, which has been “Strengthening Our Military Family®” since 1861. The organization offers low-cost, high-quality, licensed childcare for school-aged kids in Central Texas, with programs and services that are no or low cost and do not require dues or membership fees. Its programs are exclusively tailored to meet the needs of military members and their families serving in the Killeen and Fort Hood communities, while also providing support and services for both military families and Killeen’s community as a whole. The Armed Services YMCA enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs relevant to the challenges of military life. It operates a state-of-the-art gym facility that includes personal training, group exercise, nutrition classes, Youth and Senior Fitness Classes, cooking and nutritional education for youth, and personal and small group fitness training, along with Child Watch at the gym. The organization also provides emergency food relief and holiday travel assistance for military families, as well as access to food security, affordable, quality child care, and parent-child early education opportunities. The Armed Services YMCA holds a Charity Navigator 4-Star rating, a Charity Watch A Grade, and a Candid Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency. It works with installation leadership to support military families at Fort Hood and in surrounding areas, and sponsors and partners enable the ASYMCA to provide more programs and services to more junior enlisted military families across the country.
