Blackwood Youth Programs are part of Blackwood Educational Land Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing ecological literacy and regenerative land stewardship through education, agriculture, and community engagement. The institute’s work is rooted in regenerative agriculture, closed-loop systems, and a focus on access and impact, and its farms function as educational landscapes where soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable practices are actively cultivated and shared. The organization is led by founder and CEO Cath Conlon, who describes Blackwood as a place where young people are encouraged to experiment and try again, and who emphasizes the connection between farming and nature education. The institute also invites volunteers to join its community through ongoing volunteer opportunities and a Special Skyfarm Volunteer Day in Houston.
