About
Texas Wake Academy is a water sports summer camp where campers take part in wakeboarding, wakesurfing, swimming, tubing, and free swim. The program also includes sports, games, pickleball, field games, and gaga ball. Coaching methods, boat speeds, and boat wakes are tailored to each camper's individual skill level.
• Ages: 6–15 years old
• Schedule: Day camp sessions run Monday through Friday, May to August, with 11 weeks of day camp offered each summer
The day camp program focuses on creating an unforgettable summer experience while embracing the growth opportunities of camp. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided, and lunch is no longer provided at camp. Campers are expected to bring a packed lunch, a reusable water bottle with refill stations available, and optional money for snacks at the Marina Ship Store.
Counselors are Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certified, and are trained extensively in physical and emotional safety. The program offers a shuttle service with pick-up and drop-off at the Lake Travis Middle School Tennis Courts, and local drop-off is available for families near Lake LBJ. Registration is open, and spots are described as filling up fast.
Texas Wake Academy is proudly described as serving the Highland Lakes area. One parent shared that their two boys learned new tricks in wakeboarding and wakesurfing, spent time swimming and playing with new friends, and enjoyed a week of outdoor activity on the lake with their coaches.
