Explorer Camps and Space Center U include immersive STEM day camp experiences and hands-on citizen science opportunities for participants. Explorer Camps introduce children to science, technology, engineering and math through engaging, hands-on learning activities. Space Center U is a challenging multi-day program offered year-round to individuals and groups, and activities can include Tram Tours as part of the experience.

• Schedule: Space Center U “Journey to Space” is a 3-day program, with options for ages 11–14 and 15–18 running Saturday, February 14, 2026 through Monday, February 16, 2026 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Since opening its doors in 1992, Space Center Houston has welcomed over 26.6 million guests. Its mission is to reveal how science and humanity power space exploration. Space Center Houston is a Smithsonian Affiliate and describes itself as the premier authentic and immersive learning center for science and space exploration, as well as the world’s leading science and human space exploration and experience STEM learning center. Space Center Houston serves as the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center and generates an annual economic impact of $241.3 million, including 2,515 jobs and $65.3 million in direct spending around the Houston metro area, according to a 2018 economic study by Quanticon, LLC researchers Stephen Cotton, PhD, and Jason Murasko.
