About
Kennedy Dance Theatre offers dance, musical theatre, and performing arts classes, including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, aerial fabric, and fitness. The program also offers etiquette consulting services through its sister program, Manners Pro, for ages 4 through adult. More than 100 classes are offered each week in various dance styles and fitness for ages 2 through adult.

Kennedy Dance Theatre opened as a performing arts studio in 1973 in Pasadena, Texas, under Director and Founder Mary Lee Kennedy. The staff is professionally trained and brings quality dance education to over 500 students. The mission of Kennedy Dance Theatre is “Teaching Excellence in Dance and Values for Life. Kennedy Dance Theatre Offers Professional Dance Instruction with a Christian Emphasis.”
Kennedy Dance Theatre offers classes with a high standard of technique, style, and performance and has a Special Needs Program that offers free dance classes to students with down syndrome, autism, and other developmental disabilities. Teachers and student assistants in the Special Needs Program volunteer their time each week. The program also offers a scholarship fund to help students who otherwise could not afford instruction. Kennedy Dance Theatre has been featured on ABC 13 News, Fox 26 News, Great Day Houston, the Houston Chronicle, Change Magazine, and Bay Area Houston Magazine.
The facility includes six dance studios, a front entry lobby with a customer window to the front office, and a waiting room with closed circuit TV monitors for classroom viewing and a complimentary coffee bar for parents. Additional features include spacious hallways, the Sparkle Boutique for dance supply needs, a vending machine with snacks and drinks, a “Green Room” dressing room with a separate bathroom and shower, a teacher locker room, a teacher work room, two additional office spaces, and costume closets. Kennedy Dance Theatre is dedicated to giving back to the community by performing for local events and organizations free of charge.
