Kidventure Camp West U

Kidventure Camp West U includes activities such as archery, rock climbing, obstacle courses, camp-wide games, team challenges, team building, adventure challenges, and campfire activities. Campers take part in board game design, trading card games, strategy games, puzzle solving, sweet treat games, candy crafts, friendship bracelets, creative arts, sensory arts, story time, music and movement, and water play. The program also features team games, sports and recreation, STEM projects, service projects, peer mentoring, a water park visit, a foam party, small animal snuggles and pets, bowling, a trampoline park, interactive STEM exhibits, games and events at AR's, and a Puppet Magic Show.

• Price: Camp session price $360 per camp week; West U non-residents $390; weeks with four camp days due to holidays are prorated accordingly

All camp activities, field trip transportation, admissions and entrance fees, and daily camp snacks are included in tuition, and camp shirts and merchandise are sold separately. The program has a maximum capacity of 40 campers and a maximum camper-to-staff ratio of 8:1. The 2026 summer theme is “Game On!,” inspired by nostalgic board games, with weekly themes focused on core values such as Respect, Friendship, Patience, Honesty, Courage, and Teamwork. Programs are available for ages 3–16 with flexible scheduling options, and Kidventure also offers overnight camp selections for ages 8 to 16 in the Texas Hill Country.

All counselors are certified in CPR, First Aid, and emergency response protocols, and every team member passes comprehensive background checks and receives ongoing training. Kidventure is licensed and accredited and is certified by the American Camp Association. The organization is led by Founder and President Mike McDonell. Kidventure began in 1994 as an outgrowth of a summer program at Biron Gymnastics in West Houston and is in its 32nd season from 1994–2026, with over 30 years of history building character and a stated goal to grow happy, healthy kids. Since 1994, Kidventure has provided children’s programs for thousands of families, with a mission that includes helping kids discover their potential, explore the world around them, and develop abilities and character traits for future leadership, while letting kids be kids.

Kidventure reports serving 10,000+ families yearly, being trusted by 10,000+ Texas families since 1994, having a 4.9/5 average parent rating, and an 85% yearly return rate. Kidventure’s day camps and overnight camps have become a second-generation tradition for thousands of families in Texas. The organization operates the non-profit “Ollie’s Kids,” established in 2022, which runs Camp Rainbow Days to provide summer camp experiences to children experiencing homelessness.
