Mad Science of Houston offers hands-on science experiences that include chemistry, forensic science, rocketry and aerodynamics, and advanced robotics. The program runs birthday parties, after school programs, holiday and summer camps, shows and assemblies, science stations, STEM workshops, preschool workshops, Family Science Days/Nights, in-school workshops, STEM night science stations, and school-wide shows. Camps and classes use an inquiry-based science curriculum with group experiments, interactive instructors, and activities such as dry ice storms, a Mad Science hovercraft, and a “Genie from a bottle,” and some birthday parties include make-and-take stretchy slime.

Mad Science was founded in 1985 in Montreal, Canada, by co-founders Ariel Shlien and Ron Shlien and is described as a leading science enrichment provider. Mad Science is now a global enrichment company with over 150 locations in more than 20 countries and over 30 years in business, delivering hands-on science experiences to millions of children every year. Its stated mission is to inspire children through science, sparking lifelong imagination and curiosity. Mad Science of Houston partners with NASA, LEGO, and local colleges such as the University of Houston and Lone Star College and has served Houston-area schools, daycares, churches, community centers, YMCAs, and other organizations year round. Holiday and summer camps are offered from summer through Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break, and Mad Science of Houston is currently looking for instructors for after-school programs.
