Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend’s first Club was established in 1957, and the organization notes it is celebrating 68 years of changing and saving lives. The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. In 2024, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend served over 3,600 youth through its Early Learning Center, after-school programs, summer camps, sports leagues, and community events at 17 locations, including the Greenwood Unit and 16 on-site after-school programs at Flour Bluff ISD, Ingleside ISD, and Corpus Christi ISD. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation during their Fall 2025 grant cycle. The organization lists Interim CEO Dr. Ralph Silva and Board President Ben Molina as part of its leadership team. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend states that it fills the gap between school and home for youth ages 5–18, provides safe spaces, mentorship, and opportunities for youth across the Coastal Bend, and that its after-school programs provide unique experiences that expand youths’ learning opportunities and provide a lifeline for working parents. The Justice League: Youth in Action program within the organization focuses on civic education, mock trials, and mentorship from legal professionals.
