South Texas Ecotourism Center Camps include activities such as Breakfast with the Birds, Meditation & Restorative Yoga, Bird Bingo, Bird Bingo pt 2, Spring Break Camp, and Summer Camp. Breakfast with the Birds is offered every day from 9:00 am to 11:00 am as part of the center’s programming.
• Schedule: Breakfast with the Birds offered daily 9:00 am–11:00 am; general hours of operation are 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
The South Texas Ecotourism Center operates under the leadership of Cameron County Commissioner David Garza. Its mission is to encourage the exploration of South Texas by highlighting its assets across the counties. The center is described as the first and only ecotourism center in the state of Texas and includes features such as native planting to increase biodiversity, responsible and innovative storm water management strategies, use of native landscape materials to reduce maintenance and water costs, and space for community gatherings and events.
