Children’s Learning Station is a family-owned and operated childcare center with a mission to foster a nurturing, Christian environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. It operates in an intimate facility with small, low-ratio classrooms, long-term teachers, and a home atmosphere where everyone knows each child and family. The center is newly remodeled with extensive renovations completed in 2019, offering over 5,000 square feet and modernized facilities described as a safe, fun, and engaging space for children, as well as a warm, welcoming home.

Children’s Learning Station has been in the Lake Cities community since it opened in 1985 and has been described as a cornerstone of early childhood education in Lake Dallas for over 30 years. It is noted as Lake Cities’ only 4-Star Texas Rising Star center and is locally owned by Don and Suzanne Manning, founders of Crazy Cool Family. The director, Mrs. Kristine Burgan (also referred to as Ms. Kristine), is a former Children’s Learning Station student. The program offers FlexCare discounted customized schedules to fit unique work needs and includes extracurricular activities like soccer, music, and dance.

The center is rooted in the community and is owned by a family with over 50 years of experience in Denton County. One owner, Don Manning, is also the CFO of a real estate company and serves on the elder board of Valley Creek Church, a church that started over 25 years ago. A parent testimonial from Jessica Strauss Slider describes Children’s Learning Station as the best place she has used for all her children, notes that her older daughters have great memories there, and shares that her youngest asks to come see her friends even on weekends.
