Glad Tidings Christian Academy is part of Glad Tidings Church, which was pioneered in October 2012 and is led by Pastors Jared and Jessica Baker. Glad Tidings Church describes itself as a Spirit-filled, non-denominational church that believes in the power of the blood of Jesus, the Word of faith, and the continuous move of the Holy Spirit in the earth, and it states that it is committed to leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The church offers a Foundations Class called “Building a firm foundation for your victorious Christian life,” as well as Serve Team opportunities in Sunshine Nursery Ministry, Mighty Kids Wednesday Classes, Media/Sound Team, and Ushers/Security Team.
The church hosts Corporate Prayer on Mondays at 7PM on January 12th, 19th, and 26th. A semi-formal Vision Banquet is held as an event that is not a fundraiser, and children have their own special celebration in the F.L.C. during the Vision Banquet. Through Samaritan’s Closet, the church collects new or used but clean coats, sleeping bags, gloves, water bottles, non-perishable snacks, new wash cloths, and new socks for outreaches to people who are homeless around Lubbock. The Nursing Home Ministry meets on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 2:30PM at Mackenzie Court Retirement Home, and residents there enjoy visits from children.
