Camp Fern Legacy is an overnight camp that is intentionally small, with around 150 campers each session. Counselors know every camper’s name, and many leaders were campers themselves.

Camp Fern Legacy has been a welcoming camp for generations of campers since 1934. The camp’s mission statement is “GOD FIRST, OTHERS SECOND, I AM THIRD.” Camp Fern Legacy is led by a team of experienced professionals, and its directors and department heads bring decades of combined camp experience. The leadership team includes Sophie Hudson Letbetter, Girl’s Program Director, and William “Squid” Harrell, Boy’s Program Director. Staff members complete thorough background checks, and the camp maintains intentional staff-to-camper ratios, with every decision starting with camper safety and practiced emergency protocols. Camp Fern Legacy is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services Youth Camp Program.
Campers at Camp Fern Legacy develop confidence, character, and leadership skills through meaningful time spent in nature and leave with new skills, stronger confidence, and a deeper sense of self built through shared traditions and community.
