Sherwood Forest Summer Camp

Sherwood Forest Summer Camp is a medieval sleep-away camp where campers take part in activities such as Blacksmithing, Swordplay, Archery, Leather Working, Chivalry, Theater, Horse riding, Axe Throwing, and Historical Games. The program also includes themed experiences such as Jousting Knights, Castle Siege, Faerie Invasion, Fire Spinning, and Magic. SFSC has between 140–160 campers per week for 4 weeks, and campers can sign up for multiple weeks.

Sherwood Forest Summer Camp was founded in 2012. The program states that its mission is to deliver a week of such profoundly positive experience to campers that they will fondly recall the memories for the rest of their lives. SFSC is fully licensed with the State of Texas. The camp describes itself as the “Most Unique Camp in Texas,” with experiences unavailable elsewhere such as Jousting Knights, Castle Siege, Faerie Invasion, Fire Spinning, Magic, and Historical Games. The organization also offers a medieval grown-up camp that is a 3-day weekend where participants get to sleep in a castle and learn Swordplay, Archery, Blacksmithing, and Leather Working. The camp describes its environment as inclusive with an intense feeling of belonging. The camp also encourages families not to forget to visit Sherwood Forest Faire on weekends in March and April.
