About the provider
The owner and instructor is Lisa Essner. She has been a survival swim instructor since 2017 and is certified through Survival Swim Development Network in 2017. The program states that it emphasizes safety, enjoyment, confidence, gentle instruction, and true survival swim skills to help children rescue themselves in a water emergency.
Lessons are 15 minute 1:1 lessons. Children can start as early as 6 months old. Once a week maintenance lessons are recommended. It can take 3-6 lessons for a child to bond with the instructor. Parents may watch the lesson. If a child struggles to bond, parents may be asked to stand out of sight. The methodology is designed to blend the instructor, child, and parent into a learning team.
