The Boys & Girls Club of Mission was established in 1984. Its mission is to enable all young people—especially those who need it most—to realize their full potential as responsible, productive, and caring citizens. The organization states that it provides young people with high-quality programming and a safe, supportive environment where they can express themselves, grow, and thrive as upstanding citizens, and that it is committed to equipping youth with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to lead healthy, happy, and successful lives. The athletic program gives members the chance to stay active, build confidence, and have fun through a variety of team sports, and the programs encourage healthy lifestyles and positive self-care. Programs like Passport to Manhood and SMART Girls are described as helping youth build character, confidence, and leadership skills that last a lifetime. Volunteer opportunities are available within the afterschool program and athletic activities, including helping with homework, mentoring students, coaching sports, or assisting with practices and games. This work is carried out in honor of Ramon Rosales Jr., whose dedication and service to the Mission community are cited as an ongoing inspiration for efforts to uplift and empower the next generation. The leadership team includes Ricardo Venecia (Chief Executive Officer), Amanda Hernandez (Vice President of Organizational Development), Sujei Rodriguez (Vice President of Operations), Andrea Perez (Program Administrator), Esau Garza (Unit Supervisor), Roman De Leon (Athletic Supervisor), Sarahi Rivas (Athletic Supervisor), Jose Moncada (Custodian (FT)), and Aimee Hidrogo (Receptionist).
